(no subject)

I went to a Catholic service today, in part because I thought it would be interesting, and in part because I was going with a friend. The service was nice -- right up until they denied me Communion.

I get that Catholics don't give other Christians Communion. I honestly forgot that. Nor did I think that I was going to get up to the front and have the woman ask me, "Are you Catholic?" Do I exude Protestantism? My point is, I don't like it, and I did not get Communion on Easter Sunday.

Apparently, the reasoning is that giving Communion to non-Catholics suggests a unity that does not exist. They are helping to keep gaps in Christianity. I don't understand why we can't just love and respect one another. Honestly, it was kind of embarrassing, and I felt sort of ashamed. I mean, I was turned away by the Church. WTF.

I'm just wondering whether the Catholics think that Anglican administered Communion isn't legit. I guess so.
